People enjoy power, so ruining other people's creations gives them a sense of power.
One way to protect yourself from hackers is to get antivirus software. Another way is to put suspicious links into a search engine to see if it gets actual results.

I think people hack because they're angry, or they just want to see if they can do it. If I was ever going to decide to hack, I would do it just to see if people would fall for it. Or to get back at someone who made my life miserable.
You can protect yourself by setting really good passwords, not clicking on random links, and, on social networking sights, only adding people that you know.

I would say people do this because they can and it probably makes them feel pretty powerful when they can hack into another persons computer. One way to protect yourself would be to change your passwords for certain things more often and to have a virus software to protect your computer.
ReplyDeleteI've unfortunately had my Facebook and email both hacked in the same day. My brother told me that I posted something for Canadian Healthcare on his wall and I knew I was hacked. The Facebook hacking didn't bother me that much, but my email has dozens of contacts and their personal information so that worried me.

Two basic ways to protect yourself from hackers are to not click on questionable links, and always have a Firewall or antivirus running.
I haven't met anyone that had their hacked. A Worm uses computer networks to replicate itself. It searches for servers with security holes and copies itself there. It then begins the search and replication process again. Two ways to protecto are using most anti-virus software and never open email attachments without scanning them first.
ReplyDeleteI do not know of anyone who has been a victim of internet hacking. I myself haven't either. I try to avoid going on suspicious looking websites as well. The difference between a virus and a worm is that a virus only attacks the computer's codes. A worm on the other hand attacks the whole computer system making it the more damaging of the two.
ReplyDeleteSome good ways of protecting your computer would be to not go on unprotected websites. You should also have an up to date antivirus on your computer and run scans weekly. Also it is suggested to have at least a 8 character password that is difficult to break into.
I have had my computer hacked before. Worms can travel to other computers without a human helping and viruses need a human to keep it going. I think people get enjoyment out of it because they know what they are doing. I think they get enjoyment because maybe it's like a rush for them- too see if they will get caught or not. I think they are like anyother criminal that vandelizes. They may want to be famous or get attention and don't care if they do something wrong or not to get it.
I can protect myself from hackers by periodically changing my password, keeping my antivirus software up-to-date, and staying away from unusual website addresses/ links.

I think that people try and hack to gain peoples personal information like credit card numbers or other things like that. ReplyDeleteTwo of my friends, my brother, and myself have all delt with hackers. We each had our game accounts hacked into and taken over. Only lasted about 2 hours (stupid computer phone voice things), but it was still a pain just to have to deal with. Then to log in and find you have money and gear missing after words.
I think a hacker does it for a few reasons. One, they're bored and want something to do, but have nothing to put the skill to use with. Two, They're to lazy to do the work themselves so hack and steal someone else's account. Three, they enjoy watching and making other people suffer by causing they're brand new computer to crash or delete all of their important files. And Four, someone is paying them to do it.
Disconnect your internet connection or completely shut down the system when not in use. Don't be giving out even the simplest of things information wise that could deal with your accounts.
It hard to think about all the sick people in this world that have the brains to use what they have learn on computers threw the years to put it to bad use. Its tough to think what goes threw their minds and what fun they get out of hurting someone by messing around with someone else computers. I had my computer hacked into and i also had a few virus and worms. Some people are just sick in the head. A computer virus is a software that causes great harm to files and other programs. Worms cause harm to the network.A worm is self replicating, it sends copies of itself to other computers and harms the network. You can protect your computer for virus and worm by different software that will try and keep out all the theses problems. There is anti-malwarebyt and avast antivirus protection. There is other protection out there to try and stop hackers. But its mostly up to you to try and stop it by scanning and watch for junk mail and use less info about yourself, change your password every other week or day if you need to.

I heard about a new name called lizamoon that infected more then a million websites. A new google's+1 buttons is trying to compare its self with facebook. Google is coming out with alot of new ideas. Like making app that would identify people's faces. Microsoft accuses google of antitrust violations.

I think people mostly make viruses and worms to see if they can create them and when they do have success they try to make bigger ones that can do more damage. Doesnt really make sence to me but we all cant be the same can we. Two ways to keep yourself safe from hacking is to change your passwords quite often, and also set good passwords nothing with your family or important things in them. Never have the same password for your computer as well as email and stuff like that. And another way to keep yourself safe is to never click on pop ups or links you may not be sure of. they can only lead to bad things.
ReplyDeleteI don’t think so. A virus is a thing that attaches to a file and destroys your information, whereas a worm will follow you destroy your computer and leave. That’s a question youvd have to ask a hacker im not too sure. Get good virus protection and be very wary about what you click on
ReplyDeleteI've been a victim on multiple occassions on my fb account but it wasn't to major though. A virus must be activated by way of user intervention. This may include double-clicking on a website link or opening the attachment of an email message. A worm bypasses user intervention by releasing a document containing the infected macro and distributing itself from computer to computer. To prevent things like this from happening you just buy an anti-virus program or a firewall thats solid. I think someone would enjoy it because they have nothing better to do or to be nosey with other people business
ReplyDeleteI actually just received an email from a bank that holds one of my credit card accounts that they have just been hacked and to watch for suspicious emails and to make sure that I do not open this. This can be a little scary but they say they do not believe my account information was obtained just my email. Funny enough, just yesterday for the first time since opening the account several years ago, I got my first email from the scammers that try to get you to send them money because someone somewhere died and since there is no heir I get the money.
ReplyDeleteI virus is something that will "infect" your computer and make the programming not work as well. From my understanding a worm will infect the whole network and continue to replicate itself.
I think hackers are trying to "prove" their self worth personally. I think they have very low self esteem and this is there way of saying "hey, guess what, I'm better than you" because they were insufficient growing up. On the other hand I think some are just mean. There are people out there who do things just to make other peoples lives harder. I'm not saying these are the only two reasons but I do believe these are the most prominent.
To prevent from viruses and worms I use AVG anti virus and Malware. I feel very protected and they seem to work very well. I also don't give out any passwords or any of the important stuff associated with any email or other account I may have.
