Will you complain? Will you make a difference? Will you vote? The subtle effect of our peers actions...

We all look around at society and can see things that we would like to change.  We often get stuck in a rut though that as one single person we can't do anything that will make a difference.  This couldn't be further from the truth.  Something as simple as a smile to the stranger in the hallway or a nice text to your mom can dramatically change someone's day.  Then starts the chain of paying it forward.  The same could be said for voting.  This is a current hot topic in our society right now.  How do the political leaders get the younger generation (us!) to show up at the polls.  Read the following article about one approach to this situation.  Are you planning on voting this year?  What do you think regarding how peer pressure effects our actions?  Are your actions often swayed by what your friends are "reporting" on facebook, twiter, and other technological devices?

  1. No I dont think I plan on voting, just because its somthing that is not very improtant to my life. Peer pressure takes an impact on everyones life whether they know it or not. Peer pressure can have a negative or postive force on people just depends. Actually yes some of my actions on facebook lead to what other people say...like everyone was complaining about the snow so I decided to comment aboutthe snow!

  2. I'm not sure yet if I am going to vote! I'm pretty sure I will though. And agreed peer pressure does impact everyones life in some way or another, it may have a big effect on our actions or it may some tiny thing! What people say online sometimes affects me and what I do; most of the time though I ignore it and just brush it off my shoulders. What people say online is their business and not mine to interfere, unless it effects someone I love or care about!

  3. No i am not going to vote because its not at all important for me. Peer pressure defenatly effects peoples actions. I really don't let peer preasure get to me. Sometimes it does get to me but its not common. It all depends on the situation and what is going through my mind.

  4. Yes I will be voting. Peer pressure affects a lot of younger peoples decisions. Almost all of them. mine are not affected by that because i dont have either of those. But i do some of the stuff my peers do because they do it.

  5. i do plan on voting this year... i am actually old enough. peer pressure does effect our actions... but idk why it would when it comes to elections. its your time to speak. you vote for what you believe in... not what your friends believe in. facebook or any of those... dont sway my beliefs... unless its some cool kickass video about a hippo ontop of a jello mold! haha

  6. I dont think that I am going to vote this year. Peer pressure affects people more than we actually think. When people post things online, it sometimes can have effects on others.

  7. My honest opinion is voting is a choice you make on you're own. I personally don't vote because the public vote really doesn't matter since the electorial college has the final say of who wins in each state. It's their votes who actually make the president the president. It really doesn't matter what people put on facebook that would convince me to vote or think differently. I've been told the hard facts of how the system works and I'm not going to say I'm against the government, but it seems like everything is planned out in a weird way.

  8. I will be voting this year. Peer pressure effects every single person at one point or another. A common example of this would be the "like" groups on facebook. One moment your looking at your friends updates, and then you see a group and decide to like it. That in itself is peer pressure to an extent. I don't let peer pressure get to me if I can, and I make my own decision for the most part. However, if my friends are doing and I think it looks fun, of course I'm going to do it.

  9. Yes I am I have an absentee ballot that is being sent to me to fill out. I think peer pressure effects our actions alot because if you think its cool you are more likely to do it. I don't think that my actons are swayed by my friends really on facebook much.

  10. No i dont plan on voting this year because im not concerned with that stuff. When it comes to peer pressure i dont let it affect anything i do. My actions arent swayed by friends unless its something i can agree with.

  11. I more then likely will vote this year. Peer pressure is deffinately an issue with all types of ages. It has a big effect on individuals decisions. It all depends on the situation and if you give into peer pressure. I've been pressured to do many things but the big things I make sure I do them because it's my choice, no one elses. Sometimes my actions are affected by what someone may say on facebook, but most of the time I'm smart enough to not make a big deal out of things. People post what they want, it's just how you interpret things.

  12. Yeah, I am pretty sure I will be voting... Peer pressure does affect our actions, well most of our actions even if it is very small... I will be the first to admit that I will for sure be voting if one of my friends was going to go vote. Even if I was going to already. And if I saw on facebook, that a bunch of people were going to be voting... putting it as their status etc... That might also sway my decision a little.

  15. Yes I will vote this year. Peer pressure is the force that drives youth to do what they do, and is something that will always exist. I had more peer pressure when I was younger. There may be a few things that I am influenced from my friends, but there is not very much.

  16. I will most likely be voting this year. It seems to work in influencing peers around you to decide the same way.I think it expands my like's on facebook, if my friends find something i have never seen, odds are i may like it too.
