What's on your mind?

So we've been talking about things I have found on random websites and thought were interesting and applicable to our class for the last few days and now its your turn.  Go to CNN, FOX News, Yahoo, or a similar website and find a technology related article that interests you.  Be creative, it does not have to directly be about computers but has to incorporate technology in some way.  Post the link to this blog then write about why you found it interesting and how it relates to technology.  Also, include one question or thought that you are wondering about regarding the article.  You can use a similar format that I use to start our daily blogs.  Have fun and find something that interests you!

It's neat how the IPODS keep advancing more and more each year.

It's amazing to see how many predictions there are for new technology and seeing from years back at what came out and how much technology has changed.

Its interesting how this program will profile you to suggest things for you future and things you will like according to your interest in other common area's. Do you think this is to much of a privacy invasion or a helpful tool?

This article is interesting it talks about how google predicts what are going to be the best sellers for christmas this year. They did it last year and it worked. They just see what toys or gagets get searched the most, and those are going to be the top gifts around christmas time. My question is what doesn't google do or know!

I think it's creative in a sense, that all the new phones and computers that are being created today are able to operate together on one system; even though each piece of technology is individually unique!

I find this article interesting because it is a good way for lawyers to get information leading to a better court case. It is kind of backstabbing in a way but in the end probably a good thing. My question is is why would a soon-to-be ex husband post all those comments in the first place when he is going through a divorce, because sooner or later someone will see the truth to the matter.

Next time you play a game like NHL or even NBA live, look close to see the fact that Gatorade and other products are on there...
It is pretty sweet that after a hard played first half of yer Kobe... Lebron... whoever you perfer to be your alter ego on a game... you suddenly feel like havin a Sports drink FILLED with electrolites... yet... you dont burn all that sugar off right away becasue you have to finish your game! haha anywhosers...

"After their first exposure to the ads, the percentage of gamers visiting and searching Bing increased by 108 percent, according to Microsoft. In fact, two-thirds of the gamers who visited Bing after seeing the ad were visiting for the first time."

Once you think about it... when your done playing a game, you decide, (What was that ad about? Why would it be in this game?) So you go check it out...
Idk, thats why i dont play that many video games... haha

I found it really interesting how someone actually addressed all of the annoying phrases people use on their phones and websites. Things like "lol" are becoming used in real life, instead of just keeping it limited to the world. Frankly, I think thats annoying when people do that. But the article also addressed things like using the # and @ buttons rendundently over the computer. How annoying...

This article shows tiny micro air vehicles that fly into collapsed structures, caves and chemical spills and detects hazardous materials. I think its a very good idea to use these because it just makes it safer on people.

Like the topic on Tuesday, speed is the answer to everything. European reseachers are finding ways to make traffic lights adjust to traffic flow. I want to know where they would trial the experiment. Yay we can spend thirty seconds less at a red light.

  19. http://www.cnn.com/2010/TECH/social.media/09/14/internet.awkward.phrases/index.html

This article is about 3 of the webs most awkward phrases that are now being used in the everyday english speaking language. It's pretty amusing considering it's true! LOL, #, and @ are used so much on facebook, twitter, and through texts; sometimes even showing up in college papers. small short phrases are taking over the world! I can relate to it because I'm sadly guilty of using "@' on facebook and LOL. I have never been accused of saying LOL out loud in public though, I hope that day will never come.

Intel will teach gadgets to learn about you….
So instead of having to figure out how to work with things… they will be made to learn about you on their own. Like “Where you are, how your feeling, and what you want.” I don’t think that it is weird at all. I think it would make things easier... It combines your personal preferences, with stuff you have already done, your location, to help you make on spot recommendations for sights to see, places to eat, and more. They are coming up with remotes for televisions, that can tell who is holding it by picking up on the movements the user makes. It then helps with recommendations for what to watch. Pretty cool stuff… and I don’t think its laziness… If you have a really busy life and your always on the move. It would only make things easier.

Mario has now been around for over 25 years and has alot of popularity since it came out. All the way up to about last year mario was the number one game of all time until it was passed by WII Sports. Mario has been used in many different personas and no one seems to be slowing down with this character.

jailbreaking your iphone is now legal! i think this is pretty neat because people were doing it whether it was legal or not... but this is really cool because you have a lot more access to more things out there and you can do practically anything with your phone... even use it as a WIFI hotspot

  35. I like Adrians getup. He went with the robotic fishes... but one step up from that... is to TEACH a fish... TRAIN a REAL fish to have a school NOT HERD of fish follow him up onto a shallow beach. Just make sure he knows you will NEVER eat him... then hell trust you even more. Heck, even give him a name... like Jerry... or Flounder.

  41. The one I thought was most interesting was the one about the traffic lights that have a mind of their own. It would save a lot of time if traffic lights could adjust to the ammount of traffic flow.

  42. I think the advertising in video games from dani's article was a good idea. It could create alot of publicity for many different brands. I am just surprised that it wasn't thought of a long time ago....

    ReplyDelete
  45. Is this nessesary technology or just a waste of time and knowledge?

It was just interesting. I don't know if it was really necessary for anything, but might in the future never know...

  47. Kimberly's article about the remote for the Tv is most interesting. Too bad I'd end up losing the remote. Once I would find it again it would not remember me. It is cool that it would have recommendations for people.
