Instant...but necessary?
When it comes to technology in our society people are always wanting faster and "cooler" ways to complete tasks. Here are two articles about how two commonly used internet tools are moving forward in ways most of us had never even considered. What do you think of these new changes? If you could improve or change one thing about both of these applications what would it be? What do you think about how fast tecnhology in general changes? Is being able to do "instant" searches something you think is valuable?

i think the faster the internet becomes the faster we will expect it to be. In today's world everybody wants the biggest and the fastest and the internet is a perfect example of that. Im not saying i would change how fast it is because i like how fast the internet is it's just something i really don't think about.

ReplyDeleteI think the new changes are pretty sweet. I mean for a 19 year old to figure out how to turn the google instant into the youtube instant in a matter of 3 hours is pretty crazy. I dont know of anything I would have them change. I think the changes in technology are insane, and I think if theres a faster way of doing something then why not do it. I think the instant searches are nice, again just a faster way to get the info you want.
ReplyDeleteI believe that in some cases this feature of "close to the right thing" popping up as you type is incredibly easier so you dont have to keep looking over the wrong things... especially when you are in need of as much time as possible... but all at the same time, it shows that we are that lazy as to not move our hand from the keyboard to the mouse, or even to the tab enter keys. For my ending argument, i can say that i am positive people like the AWESOME, creative Google logos waaaay better than the fast searches... i mean... whats google for anyway? Exactly... to search for things...
ReplyDeleteThese new changes are neat and will come very handy for whoever needs them.I would change nothing just keep on letting people experince and work with on what they can do. Its great cause you can get the job done. Yes and no i think its valuable.
ReplyDeleteIt almost makes the human race look like we aren't capable of typing out an entire word or be able to move a mouse and click search. Technology is almost getting to the point of ridiculous considering it's making everything so easy. Lazy is one way to classify it. I'm not degrading technology by any means, but pretty soon it almost seems like the computer will be able to read our minds and we won't even have to use a keyboard!
ReplyDeleteI think that since the internet is becoming faster and faster it seems everyday, we will be expecting it to steadily increase in speed to deliver our results. I think this is also a help, but I also believe it could be a hindrance to us. It helps because we find out the information we need much, much sooner than before, but it also hinders us because we will expect it to continue getting faster and faster, which assists in us becoming impatient if the internet isn't up to par with our speed expectations. I wouldnt change a thing about the speed of the internet, but I do try to keep in mind that it could potentially hurt us in the future.
ReplyDeleteI like the changes because you can get what you are looking for faster and don't have to wait forever. I think technology changes pretty fast there would be something new that will come out and then after a little while something else comes along and everyone users that or is more popular with people than the others. Doing instant serches is valuable because its quiker and you will most likly get what you are looking for right away.

ReplyDeleteI like these new changes as of the fact if you are going to look up something and can't quite think of the word you were going to use, google will fill it in for you. If I could change one thing about google application it would be to make every link that pops up a true website. You were always lectured in school never to use wikepedia, well that is usually the first link that pops up. I would change it so that users would not be able to change the wording of the articles already on the web. Instant searches in the end are going to be valuable as to speeding up how fast you can look something up, but other than that there really isn't any necessary meaning to making it faster, because people are going to look things up on their own time.
ReplyDeleteI think these instant seaches are good, and that new technology is helpful. I can't think of anything that I would change about these applications. It is crazy to me though how fast technology changes. I remember my parents first cell phone it didn't even flip now they have all touch screen, and internet ones. So technology is advancing all the time making things easier.
ReplyDeleteWhen Google Instant came out, I was completly blown away by how fast Google could search as I was still typing. Instant is a very cool feature and I am glad that other people are being inspired by this and creating instant searches for other sites. To be honest, I am pretty impressed by how technology has evolved over theses past few years, and I am excited to see what the future will bring.
ReplyDeleteI think these new tools for google and youtube will change the way that people search on a daily basis, making it quick and easy. I think like a personal profile on these search engines could possibly help with creating the did you know portion of the search helping seek out things you might want to know, like the suggestions do on facebook. Before being aware of these changes i did not notice how rapidly technology was evolving. These instant searches will enevitably lead to the next big thing on the internet.The big question is, what's next?
ReplyDeleteI think if we have the abilities to do these things then why not do it? The only thing I didn’t like was you tube instant. My computer is sort of slow at the moment… just look at it... so if a bunch of videos were trying to load, I would start lagging. I think it is awesome that technology keeps advancing. I don’t think it is a bad thing at all. If this Google instant search is supposed to help make our searches faster, then I am all for it.

ReplyDeleteI think the new changes are great. I can't think of anything there is to change it. The speed of technology is ridiculously fast and it hasn't even been around very long. Anything that helps people take less time to do things is something we shouldn't give up on when there is still alot to do.

ReplyDeletei think the way the web is turning out is pretty legit. everyone loves getting on the internet when its fast. so i think it should get faster. an all the smart people in this world should come up with all the crazy ideas to make it better. i really like that 19yr old kids idea pretty nifty i think.. congrads to him..

ReplyDeleteI am NOT a patient person, but we are only human and if things get any faster than will a twitch of an eye we will end of missing something. The changes at the moment are fine. I don't think I'd revise them in any way.
Technology has become bacteria and growing way too fast and chaotic; kind of scary. "Instant" is not something I would care so much that is till it's taken away. Crazy technology. Next we are going to have people building rampaging robots!
i think this is a great accessory and can be really useful in finding information. i dont think it's a bad thing... if "instant" is able to be done... then why not?? i think it's just bad when people arent having to wait on things anymore they dont know how to be patient.
