Same story, different views.

Here is two stories written on the same topic.  What do you think of the story as a whole?  Which side do you see to the story?  What do you think of the cause he donated to?  This needs to be at least 5 sentences long!

  1. I think this is a completely selfless gesture from a wealthy individual. I don't think that he is doing it to improve the way he is portrayed in 'the social network', but rather just has bad timing. I think his donation has to do with where he comes from and being one of worst school systems it is a good cause.

  2. I like the story as a whole. The second article was more grasping than the first on. I see that Mark is willing to donate money. The cause that I think he is going to donate to is facebook. And reasoning why I say this is because facebok is such a big website its self.

  3. I believe that i like the second hyperlink's view better only in the fact that this man is giving all this money to these cruddy school systems. Even tho he may be doing it to cover his own ass for whatever is gunna go down... ya know... who gets the worst end? This guy. So who should care about what he does for what reasons he does it for. Mind yer own business...

  4. I think that it will make him look better to the public. People will view him as a nice guy who puts money towards a good cause.

  5. Both articles give some sort of opinion on Zuckerberg donating $100M to the school, however one appears to almost be assuming that he is only doing this so the movie based on his social networking site will boost in sales. I really enjoyed how CNN's articles cut to the chase: Even if he is doing this for the movie, he's still donating way more money than probably anyone in this class will ever make in their lifetime. So what if he's doing it for the movie? Creating Facebook is a rather huge deal, and if he wants to rub it in everyones faces that should be allowed. I think its fantastic he is trying to better the schools in the Newark Public School district.

  6. I think the story as a whole is good. I am surprised that a young kid like him would give away that much money because most ypung people like to think about themselves first and foremost. I would have to go with the side that it does not matter why he is doing this but that he is. Who cares if he is covering things up he is helping out in a needy community. I think education is a great place for him to put his money towards because some cities do not have the luxury as others.

  7. I think it is a great idea to give money to a needy cause if you have that type of money. So I think he is doing a good thing. I am on the side of 'giving back'. It is nice to see someone with money wanting to help people in our own country rather than always wanting to give money to other countries first. As far as the facebook thing I don't think his intentions are to show off the amount of money he has, but rather to just give to people in need.

  8. After Reading the first article, I thought… who cares what he did it for… He still donated all that money to people who could use it. That’s what is important.
And after reading the second, my first opinion still stuck… Okay. So, this guy is rich. He is giving back to people in need. Do we really need to criticize him for it? No. He is doing this to help improve education in troubled schools. That is a good thing.

  9. Plus it's helping out alot of kids and it's also helping education go to the next level which is a very good thing. it's helping not only the students but also the teachers.

  10. Reading both of these articles they are just opinion's. Zuckerberg seems like he wants to give back to the educational system that he had to go through. He isn't donating $100M to something that has no meaning to him, he is donating to something that he is familiar with. The movie however is just a movie, whether it was produced now or 8 years from now they would always find a way to link back his donation to the movie. Society isn't exactly forgiving when it comes to wealthy people donating to causes.

  11. its all good that he is investing his money in these public school's as long as he isn't doing it just to be like hey look what i did like to brag or sum like that....

  12. 100 million dollars is tons ofm oney like that could change millions of peoples lives. i think he should do that, not only because it will make him even more powerful an looked at way better in public eyes, but the thought that he is changing some kids life thats in the streets. i def think that its BIG!!!

  13. Words really skew the way we look at subjects. Crazy words!!
He is donating money toward education which is a generous thing in whole. I think he is just trying to better the world in a small selfless way not to just up his ante in 'the social network.' I think the way the second article describes the school system is aweful, but if that is so than it is terrific that Zuckerberg found them and is helping. He may have donated the money because he feels everyone deserves a great education.

  14. That's really nice of him to donate. The cause he donated is good. He will set a good example for other people who are in the Forbes 400 list. Even though people thinks there are other reasons behind his donation, it is still for a good cause at the end.

  15. the story is cool as a whole. The second article was more grasping than the first on. who cares what he did it for its still is money at the end of the day and he is giving it away.

  16. I like the article thats says he is going to donate $100 million schools. If he wants to donate that much to make the schools better i think that its great.

  17. This is awesome that he going to donated money and I don't think that he should be critized for it. Even if this is bad timing, that doesn't mean that he shouldn't start donating his money. As for the articles, they pretty much stated the same things. The second article added a bit more about how this is bad timing and about how he will be critisized for this move. Even if the movie does give him a bad image, I will still consider him a good person.

  19. i think both stories have good opinions. The money he giving the is a very larg amount so i don't think nobody need to worry about the money but use it for the right thing.Because so school take the money in don;t fix anything in there school or do anything for there schools

  20. I like the stroy as a whole. It proves to benefit others in different ways. I feel that is always good when someone can give something away rather than take it and thats what he is doing. I think the cause he gave to needs it alot. Education comes first in many things and its our job to make sure it keeps going!

  21. I think its a great thing that he wants to help out schools that need the help. It doesn't matter why he is doing it or not.

  22. I think its good that he is giving away all that money. It seems weird because he is so young and young people tend to want to save their money, at least i do, but i think it was a very generous thing to do.

  23. I thought that they were good articles, and that its cool he is donating so much money. I am surpised that someone so young would donate so much money. Im not sure if he is doing it to make himself seem better with the movie coming out so soon. He also could just be doing it because he is a good person. I think the cause he is donating to is a good one it sounds like they need the money.
