  1. 1.Toshiba Libretto Dual-Screen Laptop - The Dual Laptop interests me because of the implications to everyday computer use and gaming.

2.Kinect - The Kinect brings to life a whole new level of gaming, requiring more interaction than was previous, by forcing gamers to actually get up off the couch.

3.Nook Color - I enjoy using my kindle, but I would enjoy it even more if it was in color, and this device means it will be soon.

    top 10 medical breakthroughs
Number 2 was quite a surprise, it puts us one step closer to making fiction a fact with the possibilities of creating life. I chose it because it shows our potential to create.

  2. Ipad- I wonder how much bigger the next one will be? That's my question for every new I-product. I guess it gave people something new to lose their time with.
Kinect- I think the games I have for it are kind of fun. It changed how developers can design new games, or add gimmicks.
Iphone 4- It's an Ipod touch that can make calls. It's a step up from the Iphone 3.

Mass Effect 2- I enjoy the company that made it, I enjoyed the first game, and I've enjoyed this one enough to play through it about 8 times by now.

  3. 8. Toshiba Libretto Dual-Screen Laptop

This laptop is a pinnacle of awesomeness. Since I like to mess around with 3D software, this computer would be perfect fore 3d modeling. The dual touch screen is something I would get used to VERY quickly.

  4. 1.iPad
The iPad. I'm intrigued by the amount of popularity such a simple, yet technologically advanced piece of equipment can bring to completely change the way we think about portability. I feel that by introducing the iPad tablet, Apple has changed the way we utilize and prioritize our lives.

    2.Google TV
Google has been our best friend with all the answers for quite some time now, but recently, Google has decided to open its business ventures, to create some very new and very interesting concepts. Google TV has made the first step into an integrated home media environment for the public. With this TV box, users are not only able to watch TV, but they can now browse the web, stream media sites like Hulu and Netflix, and enjoy much more media entertainment.

    3.Google Nexus One
Wow, we have a winner here! Google has done it again, but instead of a TV box, the company has played an unusually big trump card and dabbed into the cell phone market. Google produced this "super phone" to utilize their new cellular phone operating system: Android. The tech was ahead of its time, but it paved the way for all android smartphones to come, and opened new doors for us all.

  5. I liked the Samsung Galaxy S, the Toshiba Libretto Dual-Screen Laptop, and the Nook Color.
I like the Samsung Galaxy S because it can work with multiple carriers, so I assume it will work with Verizon, and I like how big the screen is. I have an Ipod, so I like how the phone is similar in design.
I like the Toshiba Libretto Dual-Screen Laptop, because I like the idea that it can be used like a book, and a laptop. I also like how both screens can be personalized for certain uses.
I like the Nook Color because I am a fan of Barnes and Noble because it is one of my favorite book stores. I am also a heavy reader, and the thought of have my books on a machine so that I wouldn't loose them is a major bonus. I would be able to keep better care of one item, instead of worrying about tons of books.

  6. The iPad is very interesting to me because it's essentially just like a computer, except it is more user friendly. An older family member just received one for Christmas with only basic computer experience and figured out the Ipad reletively fast. It's user friendly icons make it easy to navigate to the page you want, and the on screen keyboard is fantastic, along with the graphics. The iPad changed society last year because what was a huge task of stuffing a heavy laptop in a bag and toting it around easier by just packing everything into a light weight module thats about as heavy as a book and throwinig a case on it.
The Iphone 4 is also interesting to me because of the fact that it is one of the best smartphones out there. It has amazing graphics; it can stuff more pixels into it than any other smartphone, so the picture is always clear. It also made video chatting possible on your mobile phone, which is a great thing for people in the business careers, as well as people who want to communicate with friends when they are "on the go." The iPhone changed society this year just by the increrdible apps it allows people to put on their phone, and the video chatting feature. It also serves as a "role model" to current and future smartphones.
The Xbox Kinect is another new interesting technology. Xbox has probably been one of the most interesting technologies of the gaming technology. The Kinect allows users to literally interact with the game they are playing. It can feel emotions, and even talks back to users. I feel this technology has changed our society because of the fact that it allows users to be like they are "in" the game, something that other gaming devices didn't do before.
The "Top 10 iPhone Apps" was interesting to me. On that list, the "Dragon Dictation" app was the most interesting to me. Dictating words used to be a hassle, because you almost had to talk differently than you normally would. But as technology is progressing, it is making it possible to speak normally into devices and they can adjust to the way you speak, and then write it down. This app will become handy to older people, or those who aren't familiar with where letters are on the keypad. I chose this item because of the accuracy of the app and how it made typing emails and texts faster on the phone by eliminating typing them out.

  7. 1. iPad, This interests me the most because while its a fun toy, Apple is heading in a great direction for the future.

    2. Kinect, Xbox Kinect is a huge step for Xbox and seems like it would be a lot of fun. Maybe leading to a lot more interest in controller free gaming.

    3. Samsung Galaxy S, This interests me because having a phone ran on Android is great. I prefer it much more than the iPhone.

    Top 10 Sports Moments
    Baseball's Imperfect Game:
I chose this because it is a huge achievement to throw a perfect game in professional baseball, and to have it lost because of an umpire is ridiculous. I think that this game was another moment when the people felt like a way to review plays is necessary in baseball.

  8. Ipad- Ipads has changed me personally because everyone at my last school got one for free. With everyone having the Ipad, the school was did everything through the Ipad. the students didnt have to worry about buying school supplies. All we needed was our Ipads.

    ReplyDelete
  9. 1. iPad- this interests me because the iPad can do so many things at a very quick speed. My mom has an iPad and the clarity of the screen is just like a HD tv. The iPad changed society by making certain tasks like sending email, accessing the internet, and playing games very easy for people.
    2. Kinect- the kinect video game for xbox is a very smart gadget for 2010. Even though this is similar to the Wii, it eliminates the controllers allowing you to be the controller and making you be active while playing your video game. This helps the society because now parents can let their kids play video games without having to worry about them sitting around on the couch being lazy.
    3. Google TV- This is something that I think is a very neat idea. Accessing the internet through your TV is something that I thought that would never happen. This is helpful to the society because now people may not have to have to pay an internet bill, they can simply buy Google TV and access the internet right through their television.

The topic I picked was Top 10 Late-Night Jokes. The one that I picked came from David Letterman, he stated,"Tiger Woods is no longer PGA's top golfer. His ex-wife, ironically, is still PGA's top-earner."
I picked this joke because I thought that the Tiger Woods story was very popular in 2010.

  10. I also chose the top ten new species of 2010 because I wanted to see what new life we have discovered. These are the some of the species that caught my eye:

    1. Pea sized Pitcher plant frog. I liked this frog because it was so small a person could put it next to a sharpened pencil, and the exposed lead would be about the same the size of the frog!
    2. Ecuadorean Glass frog: another FROG! This frog was interesting to me because the frog has transparent skin. I could see its heart!
3.Giant Woolly Rat: This rat was cool to me because it was almost the size of a cat!!!

  11. The three gadgets that interested me the most were the ipad, iphone 4, and kinect. The ipad interests me because it is basically an giant ipod that is like a laptop. I feel it changed society by giving us something that is even more portable and easier to handle than a normal laptop. The iphone 4 is interesting because of its front facing camera. It has now given people the ability to video chat from anywhere. The kinect interests me because it doesn't require the use of any controlers. I feel it changed society by providing a game that requires more than sitting on a couch and pushing buttons, you actually get to be physically involved. For my other topic I chose Top 10 Movies. 'The Social Network' is my favorite because it was the movie I found the most interesting out of the one's I have seen on the list.

  12. 1. ipad
this is a cool device that many poeple have now, you can do pretty much anything with them these days.
    2. 11-in. macbook air
this tiny computer is probably faster than any out there, if not then should be the lightest only weighing 2.3 lbs.
    3. Apple Tv
Pretty soon apple is going to be making something for everything. This device is cool because you can gain Netflix through it which will gain intrest with some people who already use Netflix.

The top ten sports moments interested me the most because I play a lot of sports. There were some great sports stories out there this year with this being my unforgettable moment.
    1. Baseball's Imperfect Game
This shows that not everyone is perfect and that we all make mistakes, but it's how you handle yourself after making that mistake that makes you who you are. Just like the umpire who missed this call to rob Tigers pitcher Armando Galarraga of a perfect game.

  13. 3. Macbook Air- I think that it is interesting how they made a computer so light and thin.

    6. iphone 4- I like how you can make a video calls from it.

    9. Kinect- It is interesting how games are becoming so interactive and you actually have to move around to play the game.

    http://www.time.com/time/specials/packages/article/0,28804,2035319_2034985_2034983,00.html

    Top 10 Come backs
    9. Michael Vick- I think that it is a great story about how he over came all the fans hating him and booing him about the dog fighting and had a great season. It also is incredible how he was gone from the sport for a couple years and did not really loose any of his talents.

  14. My top three gadgets for 2010 are as following:
1.iPad. I think this is a cool device because it's a handheld computer. Everything is touch screen and its very easy to take with you. The size of it is also very convient.I feel the iPad has once again added more technology to our ever changing society. People will be more in touch with the internet and all it entitles.
    2. Google Tv via Logitech Revue. This is again another interesting device to me. It lets you use an existing tv to stream google tv and shows from the internet. It connects wirelessly meaning you don't have to plug in any cables. It also allows the acess of regular tv channels as well. This is interesting because people can get the best of both worlds: internet videos and regular television. Society will be able to watch pretty much anything thats on the internet now.
    3. iPhone4. This new iphone has a 960 x 640 megapixel screen along with a front facing camera. This allows people to have facetime chat. I think this iphone is more than just a phone and computer with its ability to have mobile chatting. This iphone has so many little details it will help society stay connected with each other.
I also picked the top 10 sports moments of 2010. Because I have a big passion for sports, I try to stay up to date with highlights of each day. My Top 10 sports moment would have to be when Butler's Gordon Hayward also made the half court game winning shot against Duke. I liked it because obvisouly everyone is the underdog when it comes to playing Duke. Duke's Coach K ordered one of his players to miss a free throw shot on purpose because Butler had no timeouts left. As Butler came down the floor, Hayward heaved up a half court shot that hit back iron and almost went in. That was a very exciting moment for me.

  15. Top Ten fiction books
    3. Skippy Dies by Paul Murray
this seems like a mature mystery novel that
    I would enjoy reading.

  16. Of the ten gadgets I thought these 3 were the most interesting:
    -KINECT
    -IPAD
    -TOSHIBA DUEL SCREEN LAPTOP

    They interest me because:
The Kinect is a fun game. It is a step up from the WII being controller-less and using a video camera as a sensor. It has influenced society because it encourages excercise.

The ipad is a thin, very portable touch screen computer. It has incluenced society because it is so small, holds so much information, and is a wireless connection to the internet.

The Toshiba duel screen laptop. It is keyboardless and can be used vertically or horizontally. It has influenced society because it is so small, holds a lot of info, and is versatile.

I chose the MEDICAL BREAKTHROUGH top ten list.
I chose this list beacuse I thought it had/ will have a very high affect on society. The findings on this list will be changing lives everyday. Things that use to be the correct way of doing something has been found incorrect or ineffective in some cases (some medications and procedures). I think it is very important to keep up-to-date on new medical findings/ breakthroughs.
    The list consisted of:
New types of cells- some were synthetic.
An AIDS drug to lower the risk of an HIV infection.
Blood tests for the Alzheimer's disease and heart attacks.
Botox injections that can reduce migranes.
Slightly altering the CPR resurection process.
And a few other drug and cell findings.

  17. Iphone 4 - The iphone for is the best phone I've every played around with. There were a lot of upgrades from the Iphone 3GS. Every person I meet with the Iphone 4 they love the phone and talks about all the amazing things you can do on it.

  18. my number one is the 8. Toshiba Libretto Dual-Screen Laptop because of what I said earlier.

The second would have to be the Kinect because I am amazed by that flow of technology in the last few years, and I look forward to what is still to come.

Number three I suppose would be the Nook Color, it is a little too expensive, but I believe this will lead the way for other e-readers at a lower price later on.

  19. iPad - This was a pretty smart move by Apple. People felt they needed a device somewhere in between laptop and smartphone. The iPad is an awesome device. I started to see them permeate businesses by the end of the year, and now people are using them here at Williston. It is great to have most of the features of a laptop in a small, portable tablet.

Kinect - I had the luxury of using one of these over Christmas break and they are fun. I really feel that this was a smart move by Microsoft, people like the idea of playing games in a new way. It gets people up and off of the couch which is a good thing. But in my honest opinion, I still feel that a controller is needed for most the games that have permeated society.

iPhone 4 - The main reason I think that this was a great gadget was because of the big performance, screen, and look enhancements it received. The screen is crystal clear which helps with a device no more than 4 inches tall. It is also a very snappy phone. Finally, Apple topped it off with some nice aesthetics. With more powerful phones, people are now able to treat them like pocket computers.

    http://www.time.com/time/specials/packages/article/0,28804,2035319_2034840,00.html

I think the Large Hadron Collider was an amazing creation. I was a little skeptical at first but I had high hopes. The possibilities of what can be achieved is amazing.

  20. google tv- this interested me because more people would watch tv now

  21. #8 Toshiba Libertto Dual-Screen Laptop - A laptop with out a keyboard sounds to me like something would wind up being very uncomfortable. Laptops have a small resting point for the palms of your hands. This one does not. As soon as you set your hand down you're going to click something, type something, move something, or close a program. If the idea is a hit then more and more laptops and desktops will have the touchscreen technology.

#9 Kinect - Microsofts Kinect for the Xbox 360 is an awesome idea. Your body being the control means you actually have to get out of the recliner and get on your feet to do the work. Kids now days don't like to exercise because its boring. Alot of adults don't do it because they say they just don't have the time. Well now the whole family can stand up and have a family game night and get a work out too.

#10 Nook Color - Electronic books are actually a very cool idea. They're easy to carry about and always have something to do. Its hard carrying around 20 different books just to get onto the airplane. (unless your taking Dr. Seuss books) What surprises me is how they are just now coming out in color. Yes books are black and white. But black and white went out years ago and the color tv came out.

    Top 10 Video Games
#4 Halo: Reach - Halo has become a huge franchise since the first Halo was released witht the first xbox. The Reach game has a great multiplayer feel like the past games and new elements that make it even better.

  22. Number (1) blog is the TV via logitech revue to me that would be something that everyone should have, its small and easy to use. It works with any computer and you can watch it on your computer. Number (2) is the iphone and thats because its so much like the ipod almost does the same job and around the same price. Number(3) is the toshiba libretto dual screen you can use both screens at the same time and the price is worth it.

  23. #2 Samsung-cell phones are getting more and more touch friendly; it’s a lot easier to use a smart phone because you don’t have to think about texting and such. Sometimes smart phones can be complicated like trying to find signatures for texting I do a lot of texting if you can’t tell ha-ha. Another “friendly” competitor in the cell phone frenzy.
#4 Google TV-having the internet on your TV is like the best of both worlds because you can surf the internet and your TV. Trying to break the ice with others who aren’t comfortable with computers or technology for that matter.
#10 nook-once I tried to read a book at the beach but if I would’ve had a nook I could’ve finished my book. I read manga books and they are expensive, it would be nice to have all my reading materials in one neat place. Nook has made books cheaper and eco-friendly.
I think my favorite is the nook. I love books; I think everyone has a way to escape from reality. Id review

  24. I have a problem with gadgets. I'm not very technologically advanced so many of the products mentioned I have heard of but don't interest me because I would have no idea how to use them. However, I was intrigued by the Kinect the most. I know someone who got one for Christmas and it is pretty fun. Next on my list would be the Nook because I am an avid book reader. I try to make sure I get a little time at least each week but would rather every day to read a good book. Lastly I would be interested in the Dual Screen Laptop. I think it would be interesting to have a laptop that did not have a keyboard and could be used in a few different positions.
