As a society we are somewhat obsessed with searching the internet for information about any topic under the sun. Personally as soon as I am questioning something I turn to Google or Yahoo for the answer. Things such as song lyrics, mathematic conversions, weather, the relationship status of a celeb, etc. The options are endless. What are three things you regularly search on the internet? Read the following article. How many of the Top 10 have you searched this year? Which of the Top 10 interests you the most and why? Which is the least likely for you to search? How do you think our instant searching habbits are changing society? Do you think the constant and virtually instant access to information allowed by technology is a good or bad thing? Why?

three things that i always search is myself for 1 to see all the new blogs an etc. second game scores of the games i missed that day. an i like to see how my other bball friends are doing at ther schools an so for.
ReplyDeleteout of the top 10 things to search i prolly have searched them all. especially megan fox an kim kardashian.. haha soo sexy. but no one has blogged yet so i guess ill come back later to argue with some people.
searching is probably the best thing to happen to, google saves tons of time an even helps u find things u would have never seen otherwise..

I usually look up sports, the scores and how my favorite players are doing. I also look up northdakotapreps.com, it is a blog site where people post who they think will be the best players and best teams for the upcoming season in all sports. Out of the top ten, i think ive searched at least 4 of those topics. I think constant access to this informtion is good because people in the world will become more educated on what is going on in the world today.
ReplyDeleteThe top three things i search the most would have to be: song lyrics, song titles, and Facebook searches. I don't believe i have searched for any of the top '10'. I think the oil spill interests me the most because it is actually important. I would never search Justin B. cause it would be a waste of my time. The speed of instant searches is like the answer to any questions or information you seek in seconds. I think the ability to obtain information this fast is a great thing. It cuts down on research time and allows more time for productivity.
ReplyDeleteI have never searched for any of the Top 10. Three things i usually search for is music, movies, and probably the other thing is books. Always looking for somethig new. The oil spill is probably the one that i would look up the other ones i could care less about.
ReplyDeleteI always search for new Turkish songs, Turkish news, and the weather. From the top 10 list I've searched Apple's Iphone before I bought it. I've also searched about the world cup soccer tournament, because Turkey played too. They didn't go too far though :(
ReplyDeleteOil spill is the most important one from that list, but i didn't search for that. Because I watched a lot of news on TV. I don't think I'll search about any others from the top 10 list.
It is a great thing to search and find whatever you are searching for :)
i personally believe it's a good thing. It helps us get information faster and easier. I mainly search on the patriots site to see who they play next and i also look at wilson.com for infielding gloves.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing out of the top ten I searched for was the BP oil spill because i wrote a paper on it. That was the only one though. I usually just search for random things that i want to know or for papers thats about it. In our society it has made us lazy I think we can just go search for anything in an instant without even thinking for ourselves. Its a good tool but people over use it, and rely on it too much I think.
ReplyDeleteColtron was right I also look up gloves on the internet, and schools to attend for next year.
ReplyDeleteThree things that I usually search are recipes, just general information that I don't know, and the news going on in the world. The only thing that I have looked up out of the top 10 is the oil spill. One thing I don't look up is Justin Bieber. I think internet searching is gotten very easy to just find the general information of something. But it does take away from the library books that hold the information.
ReplyDeleteBlake...
ReplyDeleteHe is very right in saying you can find many things on google that you wouldn't find elsewhere!
I regularly search volleyball game scores, artist of songs I hear, and colleges to go to for this next fall semester. I have looked up the BP Oil spill when it was happening because I like to read all the comments and suggestions the public has to say. I wouldn't search for anything other than the oil spill mostly because I don't feel the need to stalk celebrities haha. It is a good thing to be able to go to one search engine and choose from a million feeds that pop up. The downfall to it is anyone can post anything on the internet for the public to read. They can edit what they want, and make people believe anything. I've heard people say, "well it's written on this page by this editor so it has to be true"...WRONG!!!! This is why it's affecting our society because people believe too much without factual information.
ReplyDeleteDallas said it all people overuse it and rely on it for their answer.
Just like Ellen said everything written on the internet is not true. So we have to find safe sources if we are searching for something important.
ReplyDeleteYa Colten was right...i also look up different schools and always look for new baseball gloves.
ReplyDeleteI look up scores to sports games and stuff like that. Also colleges for next year. I have never looked up any of the top 10 things on the list but i also never use the computer either. Everyone searches the internet if they have a question now. I would say that ut excludes people from interaction with others.
ReplyDeleteThe top three things that I would have to say I search are..top music, hairstyles, and designs of tattoos. I have not serched any of the top 10's. I guess I would find interest in searching on Justin because he has made such impacts of young childrens lives. The lest likely would be Brittany Spears because she has failed a lot in life so why look up someone that does not make an impact on peoples lives anymore. Searching more maybe makes people more comfortable in life. i think its a good thing because what would the world be like if we dont know about other surroundings/poeple/life around us.
ReplyDeleteAnd Colton is right, having interent gives us the information we want faster.
I usually look up songs, random pictures, and facebook searches. American Idol might be the only thing out of the top ten searches I have ever looked up. The oil spill, it is one of the actual important things happening. I prolly wouldnt look up justin. Searching on the internet is one of the greatest things. It is the answer to any questions you have in seconds. The internet is the world around us.
ReplyDeleteColton is right. The internet gives us information we seek faster then anything else.
kelci hanson is a smart chick
ReplyDeleteMy three tops searches would be for various album downloads, cooking recipes, and news headlines. I haven't searched any of the 10, and the one that interests me the most would be the iPhone because I want one. The one that I would be least likely to search would be Lady Gaga. Instant searching is changing society by allow every to find out information whenever they want, anytime they want. I think instant searching it a good thing, because it allows people to know everything that is going on in today's world.
ReplyDeletethree things i search for game score, shoes and new phones that come out.
ReplyDeleteI haven't searched any of the 10, and the one that interests me the most would be the iPhone because I want one
